At 14, Martin travelled to America and was inspired by his cousin, an accountant, with a high regard for money, Martin naturally gravitated into business and finance and in 1986 graduated with a commerce degree from University of New South Wales. Quickly landing a job with Arthur Young now industry giant Ernst & Young and completing his final year to become a Chartered Accountant in 1989.
