5.0 out of 5 stars Simple and extremely powerful.

Actually, yes... I can. It's the only way this book could and would be as powerful as it is. Spoken from Daisy's perspective and in layman's terms, this book gives as much advice as can be given to a situation that is highly nuanced but couples that with well-written questions for the reader to Think and Reflect on for themselves - giving emotional autonomy to the reader in a time when they may feel at a total loss of control in their lives. Chapter 5 could be a book to live by ALL ON ITS OWN. ALL the adults who've ever experienced divorce should triple-read that chapter. It's simple, but very powerful. <-- That's possibly the best description of this book. Worth every penny. (Side note: Well done to her parents for raising an emotionally intelligent, well-adjusted child and for encouraging her to put her ideas and voice in to the world for the benefit of others. May we all be such a blessing to our own children!)

The book starts out with Daisy introducing herself as a 'nerd', 'weirdo', and 'mastermind' (love it!) and telling her own story as a 'divorce kid'. She goes on to lay out different challenges families will likely face, from a kid's perspective. The book is concise and well organized, breaking down lots of different topics by chapter, each ending with interactive questions for the reader - helping them to apply the information to their own lives and focus on the positive. It has lots of practical advice, cute illustrations, and is very thoughtful. Would recommend to any 'divorce kid', whether it's a brand new challenge or something they've been navigating for years!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great perspectives from a kid to a kid

This book is filled with a lot of information and wisdom. But the best part is that it's written by a kid from her lived experience. Our kids will probably hear a lot of adults talking to them, but it's nice to hear these lessons from their peers.

It's a short read. Very well written for an 11 year old. I grow up with divorced parents. I wish I had a book to read from the view of a child. Very insightful and creative with the illustrations. Highly recommended

Daisy did an excellent job of breaking down divorce into manageable parts and explaining them clearly and with heart. I wish I had a guide like this when I was going through my parents' divorce.
