From the no-award winning, unknown, non-best selling author comes a self-published, hard science fiction novel called The Receiver.

Yeah, there's no publisher, no branding, no major marketing push. Just me and my pen. But the story is fast paced, the science is believable, and the reviews have been positive. So why not help a nobody author build a grassroots audience?

For traditionalists, here's the official sales pitch from my crack shot marketing department (which is also me):
A disgraced particle physics student discovers a hidden message from a long-dead Nobel laureate.
While researching common neutrino tracking telemetry, an obscure data scientist accidentally detects a mysterious deep space object.
A low rank Marine officer charged with investigating a stolen painting suddenly finds himself up against the entirety of the Iranian intelligence agency.
With realistic plot lines and careful world building, this fast-paced, techno-sci-fi thriller pulls no punches as it deftly grabs the reader and doesn't let go. Like a Netflix series,
The Receiver keeps you guessing with a steadily accelerating plot and a climax that in the moment is utterly unexpected, but in retrospect seems almost inevitable.
It's a must read for any hard sci-fi fan.

If you are still on the fence, give the free sample edition on Kindle a shake and see what you think.

Oh, and in case you were wondering,
The Receiver hits those sci-fi high notes:
Near-future technology? => It's in there;
Aliens? => Got 'em;
World-changing concept? => You know it;
Hero nobody believes but turns out to be right? => Three of them, as a matter of fact;
Obligatory villain? => No problem;
Plot twist? => I drop a few bombs, yes;
Love story? => Check;
Foreshadowing? => I mean, it wouldn't be a book without it.

How many more cliches can you spot? Add yours to the reviews.

More often than not, you’ll find Seth Jaffe hiking forest trails with his beloved pooch, Mr. Zixby, dreaming up science fiction stories. Although futuristic concepts are the cornerstone of most sci-fi tales, Seth works hard to make his worlds believable, both scientifically and rationally. Not content to gloss over the little things, he will spend hours meditating on possible eventualities in hopes of creating characters who follow sound judgment. When not writing, Seth earns a living at a biotech company. Before that, he spent almost fifteen years in NASA’s Mission Control, where he was certified on the Space Shuttle and International Space Station. Seth is one of the founders of the AI-Free Certification Project. Other works by Seth include
Career Recon, The Minuteman, Rise of the Quest Knights, and Inner Space, the Conqueror. He is currently working on The Dreamer.
